Abstract
T he sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is a rare anomaly. Severe aortic stenosis associated with a sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is an extremely rare condition.
We report the case of a 77-year-old woman who underwent successful surgical repair for an acute rupture of a sinus of Valsalva aneurysm complicated by severe aortic stenosis. Prompt surgical intervention is the most effective treatment for a ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm. In emergency situations, multidetector computed tomography proved to be a valuable tool for diagnosis and management decisions.
